I appreciate that the process of counselling may feel a little strange initially. However it can provide you with a regular time and space to talk to someone confidentially who is not emotionally involved in your story and does not know anyone else connected to your life. There is a fundamental, therapeutic gift in the experience of being listened to by someone who wants to hear, being asked questions by someone who is caringly curious, in an environment which is safe and confidential, with a knowing that there is no hidden agenda or bias. Time and space to tell your story and your truth. A safe, empathic environment where your pain and grief can be held and your healing journey can begin.
Counselling is a joint venture between you and your counsellor so it is important for you to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable and at ease.
During your initial assessment we will discuss what you are hoping for from the counselling and decide together if counselling is right for you at this time and, importantly, if we both feel we can work together.
